Skiing and the Dolomites
In Val Gardena, winter unfolds within the ski area itself.
The Dolomiti Superski area lies right here, with lifts reached in just a few minutes.
Once on skis, movement flows naturally from one run to the next, across different faces of the mountains.
With around 1,200 kilometres of pistes, Dolomiti Superski is among the largest ski areas in the world, and the Sellaronda circles the Sella massif, linking several valleys along the way.
Well-known descents such as the Saslong or the La Longia lie close at hand.
They form part of the so-called “Legendary 8”, a selection of runs that reflect the valley’s long-standing ski tradition.
Away from the slopes, winter takes on a quieter character.
The Dolomites appear in their full presence – clear, expansive, still.
Cross-country tracks run through the Vallunga or extend across Monte Pana towards the Alpe di Siusi, while winter paths lead through snow-covered terrain.
Ski touring routes and snowshoe trails lead further into the mountains.
